NY, July 4th, Summer

View from hotel room, looking out into Herald Square. We could see the Empire State Bldg and the big Macys.

UN flags and building

UN less visible, but Addy and I were there!

Sharing a smoothie, which helped keep Addy hydrated in the heat!

Fancy tacos at Greeley Square

Fun NY firestation

Park in Greenwich Village

Ex-US congressman Anthony Weiner upper left in green shorts

We have a picture almost exactly like this taken one year ago.

Watching boats go by on the Staten Island Ferry

That sea breeze does wonders on her hair!

 Two famous ladies.

Addy's been sucking on the windows in our apartment for weeks preparing for this... sucking on the windows from the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere!

Oh, I'm not supposed to suck on the windows?

It's ok Dad, I'm tired from you working too.

Checking out the Bird Pavilion at Central Park Zoo.  No strollers allowed.

A high vantage point like this is ideal for bird watching.

 More zoo.

Good thing this wasn't a live turtle.

Modern art rabbit sculpture or cute place to take a photo... you be the judge.
 Happy Fourth of July!!!

Today, we celebrate our freedom to tickle attack Addy at will.

 Rockin' the pig tails.

Dad, stop trying to entertain me, can't you see that I'm upset!

Addy's new favorite hangout... climb the chair, lean on table, and hold.

We have no mountains, but we do get great skies in Illinois.

 Fun with shoes.

Learning constellations with Dots and toothpicks.  This one is an asterism of Sagittarius, aka Exigo Minor.
 Hello?  Grandma?

More views from the World Trade Center.  Kindof a cloudy day, but still totally amazing.

 Burton Family glamor shot.

It appears Addy sleeps best in the subway, you know where it's loud, hot, and smells bad.

So happy to be back at Taim eating felafel.

 This week's garden harvest.

Lynne's rendition of Korean bi-bim-bop.  Cucumber and green beans fresh from the garden!

 Sunday's harvest - beets!

 Watching her garden grow.

 Rearranging her garden.

Family selfie at Staten Island pier.

Don't look too long, you'll get vertigo.

Sunday dinner back in Jersey City.  Playing cymbals with a girl born about when we left Weehawken.

We love and miss these Jersey City youth.

Mac'n Cheese at the airport, now that's the ticket!

Unfortunately, our superglue job on the blender didn't hold.

Addy's got her game face on for the Freedom Run 5k.  She took 1st in her age group and beat Dad by about 2 feet.
Celebrating her victory with a post-race banana.

Did we mention this place was really cool?

 Over 100 stories down.

This is Addy's current way to dance, it mostly looks like high-footed stomping, but it only happens when there's music.
